From the middle of the 20th century, Pin-Up became a popular style within American culture, and Pin-Up girls reflected the beauty and aesthetics of the time. These were half-naked female figures with eccentric outfits, spectacular make-up and hairstyles that emphasized their femininity. This type of art became especially popular during the Second World War, when Americans with these beauties on display fought for democracy, defending the values of freedom and independence. At that time, images of Pin-Up girls raised the morale of soldiers, helping them to forget about danger. Usually, Pin-Up girls were depicted on the nose of the plane, which gave rise to the term “nose art”. Each flight could always be the last, so Nose Art had a special meaning for the pilot and the entire crew, embodying first of all character and luck. Inspired by the American Pin-Up culture of the Second World War, M-Tac has released a series of modern Pin-Up patches. The patch depicts a charismatic and extremely attractive, flirtatious and risqué Pin-Up girl, radiating beauty and strength of character. Her grace hides steel determination and readiness to enter battle at any moment. The girl’s body is covered with Scandinavian tattoos, in which the culture of the Vikings is represented – skilled warriors of the 8th – 11th centuries, who were famous for their high fighting skills. Each tattoo on a girl’s body is a real work of art and has its own deep meaning. On the elbow you can see the magical symbol of the Vikings – the Helmet of Terror (Elgishljam), which is one of the most powerful and mysterious symbols of Scandinavian mythology. The drawing is made of 8 combined runes that look like a fish skeleton with a trident at the end. This sign was worn by soldiers who sincerely believed in VICTORY. The well-recognized Valknut is depicted on the beauty’s chest – a magical sign of three interweaving triangles, a symbol of Odin and the transition between worlds. It shows the warrior’s journey from the beginning of life to his burial, that is, entering the world where he is met by Odin. Valknut is depicted on the background of the world tree, which since ancient times represented a kind of bridge between heaven and earth. The world tree in the view of the Vikings is a large ash tree, which, according to legend, connects all worlds, and is a kind of personification of the structure of the universe. At the top of the ash tree is a powerful eagle, and the source of wisdom is hidden in the roots. It is believed that the world tree is a symbol of knowledge of the path that every warrior goes through. Also on the patch you can see many different Scandinavian ornaments, which used to decorate the armor and weapons of the Vikings. They were endowed with special power and, according to legend, could protect their owner in battle, bring him wealth or the grace of the gods. In general, all Scandinavian tattoos glorify the paradise for valiant warriors, whose name is Valhalla. The patch is made of high-quality PVC material (polyvinyl chloride) with full-color printing. Thanks to a special production technology, the patch looks voluminous, and the image is clear even at angles. Attaches to clothing or equipment with Velcro. Dimensions: 9 x 7.5 cm Material: PVC Additionally: velcro for fastening
