M-TAC has developed and released a new, enhanced concept for a soldier’s individual protection system — the M-TAC GORGET COMPATIBLE WITH ACTIVE HEADPHONES, ELITE, . This product is a compact, removable module that provides 360-degree fragmentation protection for the neck and upper back of military personnel. This model is specifically designed for use with active hearing protection. Its construction simultaneously enhances comfort during combat operations and effectively protects the upper back and neck from ricochets and shrapnel. Due to an updated shoulder design (compared to previous generations), this gorget can be integrated with the M-TAC SHOULDER PROTECTION WITH BALLISTIC PANELS, ERGONOMIC, (PAIR) — without restricting movement during intense physical activity. The M-TAC Gorget consists of two parts with Velcro fastenings. The front section protects the throat and front of the neck, while the rear-shoulder part protects the shoulders, trapezius muscles, and back of the neck. The neck section attaches to the MOLLE interface on the chest panel of the CUIRASS QRS and CUIRASS ELITE plate carriers, while the rear attaches to the plate carrier’s shoulder straps via webbing and sewn-on Velcro. The module is designed to ensure continuous ballistic coverage from the top edge of the front plate to the back plate, also covering additional areas along the sides of the shoulder straps. Significant engineering effort was devoted to shaping the gorget ergonomically to maximize comfort. Its design avoids interference with other gear and provides ample head movement freedom, even when wearing a helmet. Particular attention was given to the gorget’s anatomical shape and low weight, helping maintain mobility and ergonomic efficiency of the entire gear system. If needed, you can use only the shoulder section of the module, while the neck protection can be folded and secured at the front of the plate carrier. The front piece can also be removed for easier weapon shouldering — though this disables the protective function for the front of the neck. The module is made from Cordura 500D, an ultra-durable fabric resistant to abrasion and high mechanical loads. The inner side of the shoulder part features a padded mesh lining to reduce pressure and improve ventilation.
